Is there a fee for serving food or drink in the meeting room?
Yes. Serving food or beverages of any kind requires payment of a kitchen/food service fee. See the availability and rates for the kitchen/food service fees. The kitchen fee covers a coffeemaker and water if requested. Renters must furnish and prepare their own coffee and provide all consumable supplies (cups, napkins, plates, flatware, serving utensils, etc).
Note: No food is allowed in the Naper Blvd. Conference Room.
What kind of food can be served?
You may serve simple refreshments (coffee, doughnuts, cookies, etc.), simple box lunches, or cold catered, or prepared food. You may not serve meals of a more elaborate nature as cooking and use of Sterno are not allowed.
The applicant must make arrangement to sign for, accept, or acknowledge any deliveries of food or materials. The applicant must provide their own carts to carry food or materials.
Can I serve alcoholic drinks?
No, alcoholic beverages are not permitted anywhere in the facilities or on Library property.
Food may not be taken out of the meeting rooms. Beverages must be covered if carried outside the meeting rooms. The direct maintenance expense for the removal of carpet stains caused by food and drinks will be charged back to the user.
