Fall Clean Up Day November 15, 2014

Fall clean up at all three locations of the library will be on Saturday, November 15, 2014 from 9:30 am – 12:30 pm. Please submit a completed application by November 3, 2014 by:
  • Scanning and e-mailing the application to: agrimse@naperville-lib.org
  • Faxing the application to: (630) 548-2701

Confirmation of the receipt of your application and instructions will be sent by e-mail.

Ongoing volunteer opportunity is available People come to the Library as volunteers to give back to the community; add depth to college applications; fill requirements for school clubs and classes; and for the love of the Library. Whatever the reasons, the Naperville Public Library appreciates and values the time and effort given by our volunteers. Over the past year our volunteers supported our commitment to excellence by contributing over 10,000 hours of time to the Library.
 
Apply Today! Naperville Public Library Volunteer Application and Skills Assessment Forms are available at all  Naperville Public Library buildings:
  •  Nichols Library: available at the upper level Information Desk during
    regular library hours.
  •  Naper Blvd Library: available at the Adult Services Desk during regular business hours or in the Human Resources Office from  9:00am - 4:30pm.
  • 95th Street Library: available at the upper level Adult Services Desk
    during regular Library hours.
The Naperville Public Library Volunteer Application and Skills Assessment forms must be completed onsite and returned to the desk where they were received prior to leaving the library.

Volunteer Opportunities for Adults and high school students:


Regular Volunteer Positions are on the same day of each week usually for 2 hours.
Volunteers must be in 9th grade or older and successfully complete a volunteer application and skills assessment. These volunteer opportunities do not require a current Naperville Public Library card. Short-term and ongoing projects requiring special time schedules are periodically available.
Volunteer tasks for adults and students include, but are not limited to:
  • Clerical assistance
  • Conducting surveys
  • Groundskeeping
  • Home Delivery (Adults only)
  • Hospitality
  • Sorting materials
We occasionally place adult volunteers in our Computer Classes. These volunteers must successfully complete a separate IT skills assessment.

Summer Reading Program

The Summer Reading Program volunteers are vital to the success of this wonderful program.
Sign up begins on Saturday May 9th at 1:30pm at all Naperville Public Library buildings.
Check back here in April for information and volunteer agreement forms.The library strives to place every applicant; however, volunteer opportunities are limited. Volunteers will be contacted by the Human Resources Assistant as opportunities become available, and scheduled as needed.
