Substitutes
Many students choose to sign up to fill in as a substitute when assigned volunteers are absent. Consider signing up on our Substitute Roster if you wish to participate but will not be able to commit to a minimum of 6 weeks of the 9 week program. Let the staff in the Children's Services or Adult/Teen Services departments know that you want to be a substitute. Your name will be added to the substitute list and you may be called to fill in for another student. You are required to attend Orientation at the library where you will volunteer. This is required for all substitutes and regular volunteers.

Read2gether Volunteers

The program is 8 weeks long, from June 9 – August 1
Volunteers read with our younger Read2gether kids. Students entering grades 6 – 12 are invited to participate in this paired reading program. Each week at all three children’s Departments there will be prescheduled hours for paired reading with children entering grades 1 – 5. Come and sign up for the time(s) most convenient for you. At the beginning of the hour, children’s staff will pair you up with a younger child or children. You will choose books and take turns reading aloud.
