What is your favorite thing about serving on the Library Board of Trustees?
I enjoy being involved with an institution that I use regularly, that is so foundational to our community, and that is used by just about everyone I know. I am also very impressed with the passion, dedication, knowledge and teamwork of the library staff and management.
What is your favorite service that NPL provides?
I really appreciate the diversity of the offerings that are provided in our libraries. I also love the fact that our three libraries all have a very different look and feel. The Naper Blvd library has that local, neighborhood feel.....a little smaller, you feel like you know everyone there. The 95th St library has a contemporary, almost urban feel to it....lots of natural light, very open, feels hip and crisp. The Nichols library has that more traditional, large library feel inside....always busy and yet always very quiet.
What are you reading now?
- Sway, by Brofman
- The Political Mind, by Lakoff
- The Big Short, by Michael Lewis
- Death by Meeting, by Lencioni
- River of Time, by Jon Swain
- The Best and Brightest, by Halberstam
- Heaven is a Playground, by Telander
- Rant, by Dennis Miller
Why should people come to the Naperville Public Library?
It's a bit of a cliche, but the library can open up our world and our minds. Our library has an excellent selection, a diversity of materials and technology, and delivers it all in a very efficient yet friendly manner.
