Special Events

Meeting Room A/B9 – 10 a.m.
Bring a plain light colored T-shirt and turn it into wearable “Star Wars” art! Drop-in craft for all ages.
Lookout Room9 – 11 a.m.
Make Ewoks, “Star Wars” eggs and other fun crafts. For experienced crafters, while supplies last.
Children’s Program Room9 – 11 a.m.
Meeting Room C9 - 11:30 a.m. new time!

Help the Rebel Alliance in their battle against the Death Star.

For children of all ages. At least one parent or adult caregiver is required to accompany children.

Make a lightsaber using foam noodles and duct tape. Drop-in craft for all ages while supplies last.

Create art using Perler beads! Drop-in craft for adults, teens and children in 2nd grade and older.

Wish you had your own R2-D2? Interested in STEM? Meet local droid and prop builders, as they talk about how they make their robots, props and costumes, and what motivates them.

Design a mini 3-D lightsaber using Tinkercad. For adults, teens and children in 3rd grade and older. *Program requires advance registration and is limited to 10 participants per session.
Lookout Room noon – 1 p.m. and 1:30 – 2:30 p.m.
Learn about the latest and greatest in technology! Gain hands-on experience with robotics and other fun tech tools while completing different challenges. For children in 3rd through 5th grades. *Program requires advance registration and is limited to 25 participants.

Use 3-D pens to create ‘Star Wars’ images. Drop-in craft for all ages.

Learn the ways of the force at Jedi Training Academy! Young Padawan are invited to perfect their Jedi skills through different activities. For children in 1st through 3rd grades. *Program requires advance registration and is limited to 30 participants.
Meeting Room A/B3 – 4 p.m.
Create a short movie filled with ‘Star Wars’ effects with the help of associates from the Apple Store. For adults, teens and children ages 10 and older. *Requires advance registration and limited to 10 participants.

For Star Wars Day, we need volunteers to help with events such as Star Wars button making, creating light sabers, etc.

Volunteers must be in grade 9 or older.

Meet life-sized droids and talk to the people who build them.
Library Lobby9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
 
Young Padawans, drop by and create “Star Wars” crafts throughout the day.  Construct an origami Yoda, a Wookie puppet and other galactic characters in celebration of a galaxy far, far away…
Children’s Services Department9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
 
Adult & Teen Services Department9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
 
Upper Level Alcove9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
 
Jedi must be attentive to their surroundings, and this is the perfect test! Search for quotes and props in the library while exploring the event! Pick up a scavenger hunt list at the customer services desk.

Join local gaming store, The Gaming Goat, as they host tabletop gaming. For all ages.
Teen Space Area9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
 
Participants can spin the wheel and test their ‘Star Wars’ knowledge. For all ages.
