Star Wars Day

  • Star Wars Reads Adult & Teen Craft Kits
    Create a Star Wars-inspired greeting card, paint stick Chewbacca, round glass ornament or miniature lightsaber. Craft kits are available for pick up at the Adult Services desk at one of the three buildings from Oct. 1 through Oct. 17 while supplies last. All supplies and instructions will be provided. A video tutorial for the greeting cards will be posted on the library’s YouTube page to follow along at home. Crafts are appropriate for ages 11 years and older.

  • Star Wars Reads Children’s Craft Kits
    Young Padawans can create a fun Star Wars-inspired craft. Kits are available for pick up at the Children’s Services desk at one of the three buildings from Oct. 1 through Oct. 17 while supplies last. All materials are pre-cut and included in the kit, along with printed instructions. A video tutorial will be posted on the library’s YouTube page to follow along at home.

  • Star Wars Reads Costume Photo Contest
    Calling all Stormtroopers, Jedi, Ewoks and Star Wars cosplayers! This is your chance to show off your best Star Wars costume. Submit a photo of yourself, your family or friends dressed in costumes from the Star Wars universe from Oct. 1 through Oct. 17. Voting will run from Oct. 18 through Oct. 28. The winning submissions will be posted to the library’s Facebook and Instagram pages Halloween weekend.

  • Family Droid Repair Shop Escape Room
    You have been apprenticing with your uncle in his droid repair shop over the summer. He asks you to fix a broken pit droid while he runs errands. In this virtual escape room, use the clues and a 3-D image to solve the puzzles and repair the droid before he returns. Recommended for families or children 10 years and older.

  • Rebel/Imperial Escape Room
    You have received a coded video file sent from Perr’sun's Antiquity Shop. Choose the Light Side or the Dark Side to begin your adventure. You need a code word to watch the video. The clues are hidden somewhere in the shop. Perr’sun wants you to discreetly decipher the clues while they step out, so you can figure out the message without anyone noticing. In this virtual escape room beginning Oct. 1, use clues and a 3-D image to solve the puzzles. Recommended for 7th grade & older.

  • Star Wars Reads Food Fun Videos
    Travel to the library’s not so far away YouTube page to learn fun ways to make Star Wars-inspired snacks in honor of Star Wars Reads. Create a yummy Yoda guacamole dip, lightsabers from pretzel rods or fresh fruit, a hummus dish that looks like Jabba the Hut, Yoda cucumber bites, Tie Fighter cracker snacks and a Stormtrooper cheeseball.

  • Star Wars Reads How-To Drawing Videos
    Learn how to draw the Star Wars characters BB8, Darth Vader and the Child by following these step-by-step instructions. Recommended for 1st – 8th grade.

  • Star Wars Reads Virtual Storytime
    A not so long time ago in a library not so far away… It’s a time for celebration! Jedi knights and Padawans alike revel in a unique retelling of the Star Wars saga. Dance to the music streamed from the Mos Eisley Cantina and learn to use the Force to perform ancient fingerplays known only to the Jedi council. Use the Force and access the recording from R2-D2’s databank.
